We start our process by carefully washing all fibre in a 5 step wash, or more if required, it is then put on a dryer rack and conditioners added to bring the fibre back to it's natural state. From there it goes to the fibre opener (picker) and then the fibre separator (dehairer). 

 

 

 

At this stage your fibre is now ready for the carder (picture to left) to be made into either rovings or batts, depending on the end product that is requested. We have the capability to spin single strand which can be 2,3 or 4 plied for knitting or weaving. We can make center pull bumps for hand spinning. Batting for quilts or we can make the batts into a 3' x 4' felted sheet. We have fine sheep fibre and nylon if you would like a blend. If there is something that you would like to try, we're willing to work with you the customer to see that we achieve the best product possible.
